This is an easy way to restore a vintage Boomerang Looper Pedal. The original plastic click style buttons have been removed and replaced with quiet soft press buttons. Be sure to mark your pin target locations on the new installed momentary switches. btw, if the machine sounds garbled when using, power off, unseat and reinstall the ram.
do you have any mods for making these quieter? Love the rang but both of my originals are super noisey
Hi, I do recall some noise in my older unit. There are many things in the chain that can add noise. This was a good read here:
Technology has improved since then regarding circuitry and I tend to use a more modern stereo looper now that has a higher sample rate and modern electronics.
Hi Cooper
Thanks for presenting this mod! I’m wondering, if this would also be possible with a Rang III. I need very silent switches and the click of the Rang III Switches is to loud in some cases of chamber music. From where did you get the bottons in your Mod and are they specific Footbuttons? Thanks for your reply 🙂
I believe it should work with the III, wire routing may be different but it’s just a momentary switch swap. Here is the link of those switches. Thanks for the reply.
